Flamenco,

to Feel

Flamenco in its purest form in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque.

Tablao — About Section

Rooted in Albuquerque.
Connected to Spain.

A tablao is the most intimate way to experience flamenco. The format originated in mid-20th century, born in the cafés and back rooms of Andalusia, Spain. There's no separation between you and the art form, just dancers, singers, and musicians — and the unscripted exchange that happens when they perform.

The tablao format is intimate by design. Performances unfold in real time, shaped by the energy in the room. What happens on stage is a live conversation between the dancers, the singers, and the musicians. The audience is always part of it and no two performances are ever the same.

Flamenco has been part of this city for more than 70 years. The Tablao is where our community comes to keep it alive.

Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque is presented by Hotel Albuquerque and the National Institute of Flamenco, a 501(c)3 non-profit that has spent more than 44 years building one of the most respected flamenco programs in the country, right here in New Mexico. The artists you'll see on our stage are the same artists who teach our students, shape our community, and dedicate their lives to this art form. When you come to the Tablao, you're supporting that work directly.
